Finished the longest flight of the year!
Arrived in Cape Town at 5PM so most of the day was spent in the air. Made it to the rental car counter where I encountered his first, likely of many, near meltdowns of the trip. He thought the travel company booked the rental, but really he did directly, and they would not give us the car without the confirmation email…Kayleen found the email and we were off!
Carefully drove to our Airbnb in our tiny car, a manual hatchback where the wheel is on the right side so time to learn to shift with our left hands while driving on the other side (for us) of the road.
Backyard with a pool and a tree house!!!
We met the owner of our Airbnb, Nicole, at the house where she showed us around. Her family lives there and they have three boys ages 2.5 to 8 so the house is setup to handle the chaos that comes with little boys.
Their backyard is a dream for us; grass to play soccer, a tree house, a pool, a covered area to eat with an outdoor fireplace, and great views of Lion’s head & Table Mountain.
Ordered delivery for dinner and then the travel day exhaustion set in. Everyone, but Kayleen, was passed out watching Big Hero 6 by 8:30PM.
