Zippers about to burst…
All packed up and ready to go! A year in the making and the date finally arrived, it seemed like it never would. We squeezed all our stuff into four carry-on bags and four backpacks. We had them packed for a few days now but packing up the last of the house basically came down to the moment the Lyft pulled up.
Even with no checked bags it was a challenge getting checking in at Newark airport, we needed a United rep to approve the two boys checking in before they could get their tickets. Maybe an international or South Africa requirement…. Though I’m sure we will be missing Newark airport when we are at some of the other airports we will visit on this adventure.
The boys were has happy as could be on the flight. 14 hours is nothing to a kid when you have unlimited screen time, junk food, and (luckily) an empty seat next to you so you can lay down flat. Hopefully their favorite part of the adventure isn’t all the plane rides.
