Lenny woke up asking to “use carts again” today.  He's referring to the mini shopping carts that he and Ollie used at Woolworths.  He’s mentioned the cart daily and his dream came true as we ended up at the grocery twice today.

We had another slow morning before homeschooling. Len noticed a new bird by the pool and when we went ot take a picture, he took flight. We think it’s a hadeda but to be confirmed.

Ollie cracked me up in homeschool today.  While reading the word ‘shells’ he read it as ‘sheliz’ and began singing, “Shelizzzz Navidad!!!”.  We reversed the order of our subjects today and instead did reading then writing then math– Ollie definitely favors math so best to focus on reading while his energy was highest.  Len is still working to find his groove with Kyle— probably not a good idea to do his schooling from the table where he has full views of the swimming pool.

The boys dropped me at a yoga class at the Shala and then went off to do the first round of grocery shopping.  Though the yoga studio is just ~1.5km from our house, our Airbnb host strongly urged us to drive most places versus walking. As the days go on, though, I can see us getting more comfortable with walking during the day time. 

After yoga, the boys picked me up and we went to a cafe next to the studio, Maria’s, for lunch.  We sat outside and the boys loved that they could do wind sprints in the plaza while we waited for our food.

Afterward, we pulled up to a nearby playground (De Waal) and on seeing the tennis courts, Ollie goes, “look! Frisbee fields!”. The boys made a friend at the park and played on the seesaw– a novel apparatus to them as they had never seen one before stateside. 

After the playground, we all made another quick trip to the grocery. Len, again, was stoked to get another cart. The duplicative grocery run MIGHT have been necessary due to Kyle’s original shopping list… :)

We took them outside in the light rain and let them jump in the pool for 20 minutes to burn off some energy.  Thankfully they are unaffected by temperature because it wasn’t hot out and the water wasn’t warm either.  Pretty sure Lenny would jump into an ice bath repeatedly.

I am reading the boys the Little Prince at night and while Ollie is super into it, Lenny falls asleep almost instantly when I start to read it.
