I guess it is better then a rooster at 5AM but these ducks sure had some pipes. Luckily it wasn’t till much closer to 8AM. Will see if they return tomorrow or it was a one time stop on a longer journey. Either way it was another interesting thing before we started home school this morning.
Home school on a Sunday! We wanted to do it because we are skipping tomorrow to start a full day adventure early which will involve a few more ducks, but more on that tomorrow.
Lenny did not care very much for home school today and he was not shy about it. By the end I wanted to it to be over as much as he did. We will see if he has any idea what the word “Go” or “To” means tomorrow…
Ollie was more receptive, cranking out another of his letters, this time to Nonno.
I needed a little quiet time before we started the next part of our day so Kayleen gave the kids lunch and they showed off their dance moves. The actual events were Ollie was working on his Macarena and Lenny had to do something.
Once I emerged we were off to Truth Coffee Roasting and then the Two Oceans Aquarium.
Truth Coffee was more of a full restaurant then just a coffee place. The vibe was very cool and everything we got was great. Lenny was fascinated by the bathroom where the tank was high up on the wall with a long chain hanging down that he could pull. We will be back for their walk by coffee window.
The aquarium was perfect for a late afternoon activity. It has discounted prices after 3PM and took about an hour and a half to walk through with the kids. They were very into the different exhibits. Everything from searching for hidden creatures in small tanks to a big shark in a tank where we could walk in a tunnel underneath. The clown fish exhibit they could pop their heads up in took the cake.
Then it was back to the boys favorite grocery adventure at Checkers. They have asked to go to the bathroom both times we have been there. There is no bathroom for customers so I am forced to seek out the store manager for the employee bathroom. Once we get approval we head to the basement, get frisked by a security guard to ensure we are not stealing, and finally get to pee! There will be no water for 30 minutes before shopping trips going forward.
Then we were home for the nightly cannonball session and the kids were off to bed. We figured out a VPN to the US so Kayleen and I could catch up on White Lotus (SA is really missing out), thanks Kevin Koppel!
